VIKING II

In 1995, after 10 years as Captain of the Viking, Tom Pfleger and Captain Bill Billson formed a partnership to design and build a new state-of-the art sportfisher. Bill was commissioned by Tom to be the sole principal and hands on engineer for the project. The all new 46 ft Viking II, launched in July 1997, was the result.

Built by world renowned builder, Frank Woodnutt, and powered by continuously rated 500hp M.T.U. diesels, she is considered one of the most practical and versatile sport fishers Australia can offer.

Viking II's extra large cockpit is designed for handling Cairns' giant black marlin, whilst her salon, galley and bar are all up on one level and open to the cockpit, delivering superior angler comfort and providing direct contact with all the fishing action. Her two air-conditioned cabins comfortably accommodate four anglers, and her power generating and water making facilities now make extended live-aboard charters a comfortable option.

The boat is fully stocked with the latest technology in fish-finding and navigational electronics. Fishing tackle during the giant marlin season consists of custom Ian Miller 60 kg bent-butt rods and Penn International 130lb two-speed reels with drags customized by California reel guru Cal Sheets. Light, Ultra-Light and Fly fishing tackle is also available using all top brands.

Viking II is perfectly appointed to provide superior speed, manoeuvrability and comfort and is ideal for day trips, live-aboard charters, or working with a mother ship on Australia's Great Barrier Reef and the east coast of Australia

We hope to see you soon on Viking II. For references, prices or additional information please contact Capt Bill Billson.
