Gold Coast Marlin Fishing

The Gold coast is one of Australia’s premier tourist destinations, its unbelievable beaches, waterways and boating infrastructure, is second to none, and of cause there is the fishing.

The Gold Coast offers sensational Marlin Fishing. Black marlin migrate down the east coast and congregate off the Gold Coast from December.  Days catching double figures, of fish up to 250lb are possible. The entertainment of these fish on light to medium tackle just has to be experienced.

As well as its Black Marlin fishery, the Gold Coast has one of the most consistent Blue Marlin fisheries in Australia, and more blues over 600lb are hooked here every year than any other destination.  The, Viking 11 has  weighed an 836lb Blue marlin. Which is the largest Blue marlin weighed out of the Gold Coast by the charter fleet,   and is one of the elite few boats that is paving the way to be the first boat to capture a pacific blue marlin Blue Marlin over 1000lb.

Many other pelagic species are available while trolling off the Gold Coast, such as Wahoo, Dorardo, Spanish Mackerel etc.
